Donations of Old Cell Phones & Printer Cartridges Help Fight Kidney Disease

cell phoneThere are approximately 200 million wireless phones lying idle and unused all across the U.S., and nearly 400 million used printer cartridges are thrown into landfills every year. By recycling these items with the NephCure Foundation, we can help save the environment, and provide hope for thousands of families suffering from the effects of kidney disease.

This charity is made up of patients, their families and friends, researchers, physicians, and other health-care professionals solely committed to finding the cause and cure of two devastating kidney disease, Nephrotic Syndrome and FSGS. Nearly 40,000 adults and children in the U.S. suffer from these conditions, including NBA Superstars Alonzo Morning and Sean Elliot, and 1986 World Series Champion New York Mets catcher, Ed Hearn.printer cartridges

The donation program allows used cell phones and printer cartridges to be refurbished for future sale or recycled according to EPA guidelines. The money raised from the recycling will directly support scientific research for kidney disease. In addition, the Federal Government has agreed to double all money raised by NephCure, allowing your donation to be experienced twofold.

So you can drop off your old cell phones and printer cartridges in the NephCure Collection box, located in the entrance to the church at Crossroads, and help in the fight against kidney disease.
