Pastor Sharon L. S. Cook
I grew up in Wisconsin and was actively involved in my United Methodist Church all through school, including singing in the choir, attending youth group and mission trips, and teaching Sunday school. I then went to Illinois Wesleyan University where I majored in religion and minored in classical studies .
I pursued my theological education at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO. In addition to the core curriculum, I earned a concentration in Justice and Peace Studies. I had the opportunity for field experience as a chaplain in a Level One trauma hospital, a county jail, a community agency and several churches. When I returned to Wisconsin in 2004 served as Associate Pastor at Bethany UMC in Madison. After four years there, I was thrilled to be appointed to Crossroads in 2008.
Outside of church, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband Larson works for Second Harvest Foodbank. Our daughter Kenna was born in September 2009. When I get some spare time, I enjoy a wide variety of activities, including gardening, traditional archery, watercolor painting and reading.
Assistant to the Pastor Patricia (Pattie) A. Hook
I have been the secretary of Crossroads since 1999. Before coming to Wisconsin in 1995 I was an x-ray technician and had been for 25 years. Being a secretary of a church is very different but just as rewarding. I have always been proud of the work I have done both in the hospital and in the church, with the feeling of it being the place I am supposed to be. Not every day is perfect, but there are those that are, and I know it’s a God thing.
I love my family; husband and daughter. They and our extended families and friends in Indiana and the Southwest and Wisconsin come first to me. I love the beach, quilting, reading and enjoy just being with my friends and family. I hope I greet everyone who comes to Crossroads with the same hospitality that I do my family and friends.
Music Director Bill Hofeldt
Bill has been with Crossroads from the very beginning stepping up to the call for a choir director. Little did Crossroads know how immensely talented a musician they had in their midst or to what heights Bill would grow the music program here. Bill works with both the adult choir and praise band, writes original compositions and arrangements for the groups to sing, entertains all with his enthusiasm, and wows us with his piano playing.
Childcare Provider Tressie Hook
My name is Tressie Hook. I provide childcare during meetings, special services, and other events. I also volunteer in the childcare room during worship service. I am employed at Arthouse Preschool LLC in Waunakee as the one-year-old teacher. I have worked with all the ages at the center form 6 weeks to 10 years of age. I love kids and I am thankful that I get to use my talents to serve the community and church. I live in Madison with two roommates but come back to Waunakee for work as well as to attend church on Sunday and spend time with my parents. I enjoy watching TV and movies with my roommates and going to the theater with my family.
